As the daughter of a Latina educator, Eliko has witnessed the transformative impact of education in people's lives. Raised on a ranch by parents who did not completed middle school, Eliko's mother, a first-generation college graduate, showed her the opportunities that arise from engaging with decision-makers in the community. Through her Japanese father's family and their involvement in publishing and higher education, Eliko cultivated a deep appreciation for learning beyond the classroom. MindSpark LA's aims to offer students access to enriching experiences and communities that will positively enhance their lives.
